1. Family-Based Immigrant Visas-Immediate Relative Immigrant Visas (Unlimited) (Immediate relatives have special immigration priority and do not have to wait in line for a visa number to become available for them to immigrate because there are an unlimited number of visas for their particular categories.)

IR1/CR1 - Spouse of a U.S. Citizen

IR2 - Unmarried Child Under 21 Years of Age of a U.S. Citizen

IR3 - Orphan adopted abroad by a U.S. Citizen

IR4 - Orphan to be adopted in the U.S. by a U.S. citizen

IR5 - Parent of a U.S. Citizen who is at least 21 years old

IW - Widow/Widower of a U.S. Citizen

K1 - Fiancé(e) to marry U.S. Citizen & live in U.S.

K3 - Spouse of a U.S. Citizen awaiting approval of an I-130 immigrant petition

 

2. Family-Based Immigrant Visas-Family Preference Immigrant Visas (Limited)

F1 - Unmarried sons and daughters of U.S. citizens, and their minor children, if any. (23,400)

F2 - Spouses, minor children, and unmarried sons and daughters (age 21 and over) of LPRs. At least seventy-seven percent of all visas available for this category will go to the spouses and children; the remainder is allocated to unmarried sons and daughters. (114,200)

F2A - Spouses and minor children of LPRs

F2B - unmarried sons and daughters (age 21 and over) of LPRs

F3 - Married sons and daughters of U.S. citizens, and their spouses and minor children. (23,400)

F4 - Brothers and sisters of U.S. citizens, and their spouses and minor children, provided the U.S. citizens are at least 21 years of age. (65,000)

V1/V2 - The spouse and children of LPRs (unlimited). When they enter into the US and await the availability of an immigrant visa.

 

3. Employment-Based Immigrant Visa

EB1 - Priority Workers: EB1(a) Persons with extraordinary ability; EB1(b) Outstanding professors and researchers; EB1(c)Multinational managers or executives

EB2 - Professionals Holding Advanced Degrees and Persons of Exceptional Ability

EB3 - Skilled Workers, Professionals, and Unskilled Workers (Other Workers)

EB4 - Certain Special Immigrants: Broadcasters in the U.S., Ministers of Religion, Certain Employees or Former Employees, Certain Religious Workers etc.
